South Kalimantan-based coal producer Hasnur Group may miss this year's production target of 4.4 million tons due to land acquisition problem.

A company official told Petromindo.Com last week that its coal mining units PT Energi Batubara Lestari (EBL) and PT Bhumi Rantau Energi (BRE) would only be able to produce 500,000 tons each this year due to land acquisition problem.

Last year, EBL and BRE produced 1.2 million tons each. The firm has several subsidiaries but only the two firms have been producing.

?We still have a land acquisition problem with the local community. Hopefully, we can settle the problem as soon as possible,? the official said.

BRE is located adjacent to EBL in Tapin regency, each of them with a concession area of 2,000 hectares. The mines produce coal with gross CV ranging from 5,300-5,400 kcal/kg (ADB). (denny)
