Hasnur?s unit plans to sell 3.5MT of coal this year

South Kalimantan coal miner PT Energi Batubara Lestari (EBL), a coal unit of Hasnur Group, will produce 2 million tonnes of coal from its Tapin mine, a sharp increase from last year?s production of 1.2 million tonnes, the company?s official said.

Starting May this year, EBL has produced 180,000 tonnes per month, the official said

The official said the company is still looking for new buyers. ?For August and September we still have space to sell our coal to new buyer,? the official said, adding that the company did not intend to enter into long-term contract to any buyer.

?We prefer a 3-month period contract,? the official said.

Calorific value of EBL coal is 5,400-5,300 kcal/kg (ADB) with total moisture of 36-40%

EBL has also a trading arm, which this year plans to sell around 1.5 million tonnes of coal. All the coal is sourced from surrounding Tapin regency, the official said.

In March 2010, EBL was named one of the winners of the tender to supply low CV coal under a 20-year contract with state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) for power plants built under the 10,000 MW crash program. (denny)
