Hasnur to boost coal production in 2010

South Kalimantan coal producer Hasnur Group is set to increase production from its two mines next year.

A senior official told Petromindo.Com on Tuesday that Hasnur will produce 4.8 million tonnes next year with the opening of a new pit in one of its mine.

The company will only produce around 1 million tonnes of coal this year due to production severe weather condition in January-February and land acquisition problems.

The official said next year its subsidiaries PT Energi Bara Lestari (EBL) and PT Bhumi Rantau Energi will have capacity to produce 200,000 tonnes per month. The official said the new pit in EBL which will start production next month will contribute 100,000 tonnes per month to the group?s production.

BRE is located adjacent to EBL in Tapin regency, each of them with a concession area of 2,000 hectares. The mines produce coal with gross CV ranging from 5,300-5,400 kcal/kg (ADB). (denny)
