Hatch completes Antam?s power plant FS

IDX-listed nickel state nickel miner PT Aneka Tambang Tbk said on Tuesday that Canadian engineering consulting hatch has completed Feasibility Study for its proposed 2x75MW coal-fired power plant to be located in its smelter in Pomalaa, South East Sulawesi.
CEO Alwinsyah Loebis said that Antam had signed a heads of agreement with consortium of PT Indika Energy and PT Nava Bharat Indonesia to jointly build the power plant, which will operate as an independent power producer (IPP). The power plant will be built with total investment of about $300 million.
The consortium will have an 80 percent stake in the joint venture, which will be signed in September and Antam will hold the remaining 20 percent.
Construction will start in October 2010, he said. (bernard)
