HCML aims to start production at BD field in Q2 2017

Husky?CNOOC Madura Limited (HCML), the operator of the Madura Strait block, offshore East Java, hopes to start gas production from the block?s BD field in the second quarter of next year. .

?First production is expected in the second quarter of 2017. We?re working hard to realize the target,? Senior Manager of Legal, HR & Business Support at HCML, Wahyudin Sunarya said on Wednesday.

The BD field is expected to produce up to 442 bcf of gas and 18.7 mmbl of condensate for 13 years. Early production period is expected to see 100 mmscfd of gas and 6,000 bcfd of condensate output.

Gas output from the BD field will be distributed to domestic buyers including PT Perusahaan Gas Negara, PT Inti Alasindo Energi, and PT Parna Raya in line with the government?s policy to prioritize gas production to meet domestic market, explained Wahyudin.

On Wednesday, HCML also held an ?FPSO Sail Away? ceremony at the Keppel Shipyard in Singapore, attended by among others Director General of Oil and Gas IGN Wiratmaja Puja, SKK Migas Head of Operation Support Division Nurwahidi, and senior officials of the company.

The floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, named Karapan Armada Seterling III, will be stationed at the BD field.
