?The first production is expected to be achieved in the first quarter of 2017. We are doing our utmost to reach the target,? HCML?s Senior Manager of Legal, Human Resources & Relations Wahyudin Sunarya said on Monday in a press release sent by upstream authority SKK Migas.
The BD field is expected to produce 100 mmcfd of gas and 6,000 bpd of condensate.
The contract for Madrua Strait block was signed in 1982. The Plan of Development (PoD) for the block was approved by the ministry of energy and mineral resources in 2008. On Oct. 20, 2012, the government extended the contract on the block. The block, which is an old one, is expected to produce a total of 442 bcf of gas and 18.7 million barrels of condensate over a period of 13 years.
HCML will use an offshore platform produced by state owned shipbuilder PT PAL at the BD field. The offshore platform has been installed at a 55-meter deep seawater. PAL won the project through a special Engineering Procurement Construction and Installation/EPCI tender.
The award of contract to PAL demonstrated HCML?s commitment to supporting and strengthening the local supporting industry in line with SKK Migas policy, Wahyudin said.
