HCML to drill several wells in Madura Straits PSC

Husky-CNOOC Madura Limited (HCML) said that it plans to drill a number of wells in MDA, MBH, and MDK fields within the Madura Straits PSC, offshore Madura Island, East Java, between the second and fourth quarter of next year.

The company said in a tender announcement Wednesday that drilling program in MDA field will cover five exploitation wells including MDA-Al, MDA-A2, MDA-A3, MDA-A4 and MDA-AS; while in MBH field to cover two exploitation wells (MBH-Al and MBHA2); and in MDK field also two exploitation wells (MDK-Al and MDK-A2). The wells will be drilled using jack-up rig.

Husky Energy holds a 40 percent interest in the block, which will be developed in partnership with CNOOC Limited (as the operator) and an affiliate of Samudra Energy Ltd., an Indonesian company.
