IDX-listed investment firm PT HD Capital Tbk, through recently acquired 99.99 percent-owned subsidiary PT Panca Sinergi Perkasa (PSP), plans to develop mini hydro power plants with total capacity of 200 MW in Java, Kalimantan, Sumatra and Sulawesi islands.

President Director of HD Capital, Piter Rasiman, said that the 18 power plant projects, located in remote areas, are targeted to start operation between 2919 and 2022.

?Currently, construction of seven projects with combined capacity of 82 MW is in progress. The power purchase agreements have been signed with PLN (state power firm) recently. Meanwhile, the other 11 projects are at the stage of permitting process,? Piter told Petromindo.com on Monday following a company shareholders meeting.

He said that of the seven mini hydro power plant (PLTMH) projects, two are expected to start operation in 2019, namely the PLTMH Kanzy 1 in Pasuruan, East Java, with capacity of 4.5 MW, and PLTMH Semendo, Muara Enim, South Sumatra with capacity of 9 MW.

Piter did not disclose the total investment requirement for the entire projects, but said that Bank BNI has providing funding support. ?Roughly, it requires (investment of) about US$1.7 million-$2.3 million per MW,? he said.
