Heavy equipment producers eye oil and gas sector

The Ministry of Industry and oil and gas upstream regulator BPMIGAS will form a joint team to help local heavy equipment and machinery producers as well as national shipping industry to sell their products and services to oil and gas companies.

?We will form an integrated team to help local heavy equipment and machinery producers,? Ansari Bukhari, the ministry's Director General of Metal and Machinery, said in Jakarta on Friday.

He said he was quite optimistic that with a joint effort, the local industry would be able to fulfill up to 50 percent of heavy equipment and machinery demands of the country's oil and gas companies in the next five years. (*)
