Hendro resigns from Merdeka?s board of commissioners

IDX-listed mining firm PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk, during its annual shareholders? meeting on Wednesday, accepted the resignation of Gen (Ret) A.M. Hendropriyono as a President Commissioner. He was replaced by Edwin Soeryadjaja.

The shareholders also accepted the resignation of Yenny Zannuba Arifah, the daughter of former President Abdurrahman Wahid, as Independent Commissioner. She was replaced by her husband Dhohir Farisi.

Meanwhile, Colin Francis Moorhead was appointed Vice President Director & Chief Executive Officer.

Merdeka, through its subsidiary PT Bumi Suksesindo, operates the Bukit Tujuh concession in Banyuwangi, East Java province. According to 2012 JORC, the Bukit Tujuh mine holds ore reserves of 90 million tons in its oxide layer. The project is expected to produce 90,000 ounces of gold and 300,000 oz of silver per year from late 2016 to 2025.
