Australian mining firm Herald Resources Limited said on Monday shallow-hole diamond drilling continued at its Sarkea Base Metals Project in North Sumatra during January-March 2007 quarter.
The company said a total of 16 holes were drilled for 1,042 meters at Sitapitapi and Bukit Enggang prospects.
The drilling demonstrated widespread skarn alteration in carbonate bearing rocks intruded by the shallowly underlying Sarkea granite, it said.
Herald has 100 percent stake in Sarkea project.
Meanwhile, the company also said that it had held talks with Aceh relevant authorities about fast tracking an application for Contract of Work for its Meluak gold project, which is deemed desirable prior to resuming drilling.
Herald has 26 percent interest in the project through Corona Gold Limited. (alex)
