Hikmah Albros seeks coal spot buyers

Coal miner and trading PT Hikmah Albros is expecting to have stable production of 50,000-70,000 tonnes of coal per month from its South Kalimantan coal mine, PT Usaha Baratama Jasindo (UBJ), the company?s official told Petromindo.Com.

UBJ mine is located in Sungai Danau, Tanah Bumbu regency. ?Actually we have two mines in South Kalimantan, but only UBJ mine is producing now,? the official said.

Albros also has two other coal mines in Lahat regency, South Sumatra, including PT Satria Mayangkara Sejahtera. From the mines and the trading activity, Albros handles around 70,000 tonnes per month, the official said.

The official said that it is still open for interested spot buyers to buy they coal. Calorific value of the coal is around 5,500-5,700 kcal/kg (ADB), the official said.

The company is still looking for more coal mines in South Sumatra or Kalimantan to be acquired, the official added.

Hikmah Albros is based in Jakarta and the chairman of the company is Jay Abdullah Alatas, who is also a commissioner of PT Bumi Resources Tbk. (denny)
