Hillgrove intersects further high grade gold at Sumba project

Australia-listed firm Hillgrove Resources Ltd Wednesday announced further gold intersections from drilling on the Pahandanjal East Vein Prospect, Masu Project in Sumba Island, East Nusa Tenggara.

Drilling has now confirmed shallow-dipping gold mineralisation on the Pahandanjal East Vein over at least 300m of strike length, which remains open along strike in each direction and down dip, the company said in statement.

The high grade mineralization results including 10.05m @ 3.4 g/t Au from 23m, including 3.25m @ 8.92 g/t Au from 24.05m in hole MADPH015 and 8.05m@ 1.28 g/t Au over 0.8m in hole MADPH014.

The intersection of higher grade gold mineralisation in the Eastern Vein is considered highly encouraging, demonstrating potential for elevated gold grades along the entire mineralised structure.

Managing Director, Drew Simonsen said; ?These results continue the sequence of very good indications from our early stage exploration at Sumba. This result, like its predecessors, supports our geological modelling and interpretation of a very large system, involving multiple veins, many of which remain to be tested. This type of system requires patient methodical exploration. We are currently within the holy month of Ramadan in Indonesia, which has naturally resulted in a slowdown of our activities. This provides us with a good opportunity to pause and reflect on our results and our interpretations, and to review our current and potential targets. Drilling will continue for another month following the East and West veins, and we are planning to undertake airborne geophysics later in the year.? (kanti)
