Hilmi Panigoro, Roberto Lorato named new leaders of Medco

Hilmi Panigoro and Roberto Lorato were appointed as new leaders of IDX-listed energy firm PT Medco Energi Internasional during the company?s extraordinary shareholders? meeting on Wednesday.

Hilmi, the brother of Arifin Panigoro, the founder of the firm, now serves as president director, while Lorato as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Hilmi previously served as president commissioner at the firm, while Lorato served as president of Premier Oil Indonesia.

The lineup of the firm?s new board of commissioners and directors are as follows:

Medco operates nine oil and gas blocks and has an economic participating interest in an exploration field in Indonesia. Overseas, it operates in Libya, Oman, Papua New Guinea, Tunisia, Yemen and the Gulf of Mexico of the United States of America. In addition, it operates several gas-fired and coal power plants, coal mining and gas distribution businesses in Indonesia.
