Hitay carries out geothermal survey in 6 locations

Turkey-based Hitay Investment Holdings is currently conducting a preliminary survey on geothermal in 6 locations, according to an official at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry.
?The surveys are taking place on Dingin Mountain in Bengkulu. Bromo Mountain in East Java, Talamau Mountain in West Sumatra, Tandikat Mountain and Singgalang Mountain in West Sumatra and Lawang Mountain in South Sumatra,? said Tisnaldi, Director of Geothermal at the Ministry?s Directorate General of New and Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation to petromindo.com.
By doing the preliminary survey, Hitay will have the right to match offer whenever the government opens the tender for those locations.
Tisnaldi also revealed a new regulation under which in order to take part in the geothermal tender, the participant will have to deposit US$10 million in a bank to be appointed later by the Central Bank.
