The Banjarmasin Post daily quoted HJU official Adeng Sunardi as saying that the road development was currently ?in progress.?
Adeng said that the road development would connect the company?s stockpile area in Rantau to the special Sungai Puting river port.
The paper said that the giant state-owned Bank Mandiri would help finance the road development. Top officials from the bank had recently visited the mining site.
But Adeng declined to disclose the cost of the road development.
Non-governmental organizations and local people have often criticized coal mining companies for using public road in the transportation of coal products which cause pollution and increases road accident.
The paper added that Bank Mandiri would also help finance the development of HJU coal mining activity.
HJU has some 4,105 ha of mining site, of which only 15 ha had been developed. Adeng said that the coal reserves own by HJU was still huge.(*)
