Holcim Philippines scouts for Indonesian long-term coal suppliers

Philippines cement maker Holcim Philippines is looking for long-term Indonesian coal suppliers to feed its kiln, a company official said on Wednesday.

Senior Process Specialist Technology and Engineering Alberto Bernasconi told Petromindo.Com that the company is looking for the supply of 750,000 tonnes of coal per annum.

Currently, the Company?s coal requirement is supplied by Kalimantan coal miner Baramulti Group and trading firm PT Asia Pacific Mining Resources (APMC) under spot contracts. ?Both companies could not supply Holcim under long-term contracts,? he said.

According to Bernasconi, Holcim requires coal with CV of around 5,500 kcal/kg with maximum ash and moisture content of 1.5% and 15%, respectively .(denny)
