The House of Representatives Commission VII overseeing the energy sector approved on Tuesday the so-called National Energy Policy (or also known under its Bahasa abbreviation of KEN) proposed by the government, Investor Daily reported.

Commission VII Chairman Soetan Batoenaga said that KEN will act as the umbrella of government energy-related policies including the national energy mix until 2050 and nuclear energy policy.

He said that according to the definition set in KEN, nuclear energy is seen as equal to other energy sources to be developed at home. (*)
