The House of Representatives has rescheduled the deliberation of oil and gas bill to start on Feb. 6.

Irwan Prayitno, head of the House's Commission VIII for energy and mineral resources, environment and science and technology, told Petromindo.Com on Thursday that Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro would make a speech at the House that day to officially present the bill to the House and mark the start of the debate of the bill.

Purnomo was initially scheduled to officially present the bill in a plenary session at the House on Jan. 29.

But, the session was cancelled, as most legislators were busy debating financial scandals allegedly involving President Abdurrahman Wahid.

Irwan said debating the oil and gas bill was a top priority for the House, which planned to debate a total of 91 bills this year. (Epin)
