House to debate new law on electricity power this month

The House of Representatives is expected to start debating the draft of the country's new law on electricity power this month, according to a source at the directorate general of electricity and energy development at the ministry of mines and energy.
He said that the new law would replace the existing law No. 15/1985.
He said that the new law was designed to create a competitive environment in the power sector and to ensure a fair electricity tariff. (*)
