The Commission VIII of the House of Representatives (DPR) has demanded state oil and gas company Pertamina to revise the 40 increase in prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), Suara Pembaruan daily reported.
Irwan Prayitno, the chairman of the House Commission, said that the 40 percent rise in the LPG prices were hurting the people especially in the ahead of Ramadhan fasting month and Idulfitri holiday.
He said that the House members had asked Pertamina to talk to the company's board of commissioners on the possible revision of the price increase.,
According to him, the 40 percent price hike should be made gradually and this year's increase should be limited only at between 15 and 20 percent. (*)
