The hull and topsides of Floating Production Unit for Jangkrik and Jangkrik North East Gas Field Development in Muara Bakau block, East Kalimantan operated by Italian firm Eni SpA., is projected to arrive at site in the end of 2016, according to an industry source.
A consortium led by PT Saipem Indonesia has received from Eni a contract for the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) of a new barge Floating Production Unit (FPU) for Jangkrik and Jangkrik North East Gas Field Development.
The source said, currently the topsides? fabrication activities are still being carried out in Saipem?s Karimun Yard, while the hull is being fabricated in Hyundai?s shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea.
?The first gas from the fields is projected to occur in the second quarter of 2017,? the source emphasized.
The Muara Bakau project consists of three main works, namely EPCI-1, EPCI-2, and the Engineering Procurement-3.
The EPCI-1 contract is to develop and install barge FPU carried out by the consortium of PT Saipem Indonesia, PT Tripatra Engineering and Construction, PT Chiyoda International Indonesia and Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd.
The EPCI-2 contract is to develop onshore intake facilities, pipeline network and other supporting facilities carried out by the consortium of Technip Indonesia and Technip Geoproduction (M) Sdn. Bhd. Meanwhile, the Engineering Procurement-3 contract is to develop underwater production system, control system and supporting facilities which is done by PT FMC Santana Petroleum Equipment Indonesia.
Muara Bakau PSC was initially 55 percent owned and operated by Italian firm ENI and 45 percent by GDF Suez. In April of this year, GDF Suez sold 11.7 percent of its interest to PT Saka Energi Indonesia, a subsidiary of state owned gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN).
