The Hulu Sungai Tengah regency legislative council in South Kalimantan started deliberating on Tuesday a bill on mining and forestry proposed by the local administration, the Banjarmasin Post daily said.
The paper did not provide details about the proposed mining regulation, but it said that the local parliament was expected to debate the regulation in five sessions before passing it into law.
The new autonomy law has provided local administrations to manage their own economic affairs including natural resources.(*)
