Humpuss to add its tug & barge fleets

IDX-listed shipping firm PT Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi Tbk through its subsidiary PT Humpuss Tranportasi Curah will buy four sets tug & barge for Rp 114 billion (1US$ = Rp 8,500), the company?s director said on Monday.

Humpuss? President Director Budi Haryono said the four sets of tug & barge are expected to be delivered by the end of this year. Of the 4 sets of tug & barge, two have the size of 300 feet, the other two 270 feet.

?Currently, two sets of tug & barge with size of 300 feet are under construction at the Batam shipyard,? he said.

The company will finance its purchase with a combination of internal sources (30 percent of the total costs) and bank loan (70 percent), he added.

At present, Humpuss has 16 barges, including eight barges with the size of 300 feet, seven with the size of 270 feet and one with the size of 230 feet.

Conracts for the use of all the barges have been signed with PT Antam Tbk, PT Bangun Persada Regatama, Duyung Mas, Trans Logistic and Indoperdana Llyod. (*)
