IDX-listed energy transporter PT Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi Tbk announced on Friday its subsidiary PT Humpuss Transportasi Kimia (HTK) has signed a LNG transportation contract with PT Pelindo Energi Listrik (PEL).

Under the contract signed on Dec. 16, 2015, HTK is obliged to deliver LNG for a power plant in Pesanggaran, Denpasar, Bali. The contract is effective for seven years since the first delivery which is projected to occur in 2016.

PEL is a subsidiary of state owned port operator PT Pelindo III, which operates ports in seven provinces, namely East Java, Central Java, Bali, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara.

The 200 MW PLTDG Pesanggaran diesel and gas power plant is able to use either diesel oil or gas as fuel. The power plant started operation in July of this year. Thus far, it uses diesel oil as fuel but it will be supplied with LNG from the Sengkang LNG plant in South Sulawesi. The LNG will be delivered to the LNG receiving terminal being built in Benoa port, from where it will delivered via pipeline to PLTDG Pesanggaran. The Benoa LNG terminal, which is being developed by PT Perta Daya Gas, a joint venture between Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) and PT Indonesia Power, is scheduled for completion in 2016. The Benoa port is operated by Pelindo III.
