Hundreds of Badak workers protest company?s management

Hundreds of workers of liquefied natural gas producer PT Badak NGL went to the street on Wednesday to protest the management?s recent decision to layoff 18 temporary workers recently, Kaltim Post reported on Thursday.

The workers who launched their protest in Kampung Baru field in South Bontang, East Kalimantan also demanded the company to stop layoff measures and withdraw its policy to carry a selection test on existing workers during the protest.

No incidents were reported during the peaceful demonstration. Representatives of workers were allowed to talk with representatives of the management but no agreement had been made. (*)
