Husky Energy reported progress at its Madura Strait PSC, offshore East Java, as the Calgary-based oil and gas firm advanced development of the shallow water MDA, MBH and BD fields.

The firm said the MDA, MBH fields will be developed in tandem with a wellhead platform. It added the MDA and MBH dual-field development at the block is on tract for first production as early as 2014.

The BD field meanwhile, has an approved development plan with a gas sales agreement in place, and production is expected to begin in the 2015/2016 timeframe.

The exploration drilling program on the Madura Strait Block for 2012 resulted in four new gas discoveries which are now under evaluation for potential commercial development.

The block is managed by its unit, Husky Oil Madura (Ltd).
