Husky-CNOOC drills wet well

Husky-CNOOC Madura Limited discovered the MAX-3 well in Madura Strait block in East Java which was drilled by the firm last month was a wet one, according to an official of upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas.

?The status of the MAX-3 well is wet with gas background,? Head of Exploration Division at SKK Migas Indro Purwaman told Petromindo.com on Friday, adding that its position seems out of ?gas water contact?.

According to him, in order to confirm the reserves of the well the firm needs to drill another delineation well called MAX-2.

"For now the company is still evaluating why the wells MAX-3 is wet,? he said.
