Husky-CNOOC open tender for Madura Straits FPU

Canadian firm Husky Energy and Chinese firm CNOOC Ltd announced on Tuesday tender opening for the lease ?purchase of a Floating Production Unit (FPU) for MDA-MBH gas fields within Madura Straits PSC offshore East Java.
According to the announcement, the block co-operators are seeking vessel or FPSO that can be converted into FPU.
Winning bidder will be contracted to operate and maintain the FPU for 10 years since first gas production. After the 10th year, the block?s co-operators will have right to buy the FPU for one US dollar.
The announcement did not give detail about the fields? production start estimate.
The MDA-MBH fields are currently undergoing development with first production scheduled for the second quarter of 2016, this portal reported last year.
Husky and CNOOC respectively hold a 40% equity interest in Madura Straits PSC, with the remaining 20% held by Samudra Energy Ltd.
