Husky, Kangean complete joint 3D seismic survey

Husky Anugerah Ltd and Kangean Energy Indonesia Ltd have completed a joint 3D survey in East Java, according to an official of upstream authority SKK Migas.
Husky Anugerah, a subsidiary of Canadian firm Husky Energy, is the sole owner of the Anugerah block offshore East Java, while Kangean Energy, an Indonesian-Japanese joint venture, is the operator of the Kangean block, also located offshore East Java.
Ag. Djoko Widhihananto, Chief Representative of SKK Migas for Java and Nusa Tenggara, said the survey was completed at the end of May. He however did not provide details on the size of area where the survey was conducted.
He said prior to the survey, the PSC holders and SKK Migas had held a ?socialization campaign? to inform the local communities about the project.
Husky Energy through its subsidiary Husky Anugerah Ltd holds a 100 percent interest in the block, awarded in February of last year. The contract area covers approximately 8,215 square kilometers and is primarily offshore East Java, with water depths of up to 1,400 meters. The main prospective locations are in water depths of 800 to 1,300 meters
The Kangean PSC, East Java is owned by Kangean Energy Indonesia Ltd., as operator with a 60% working interest and EMP Exploration (Kangean) Limited with a 40% working interest.
