Husky launches PQ tender for Madura BD FPSO

Husky Oil Madura (Ltd), a unit of Canadian oil, gas firm Husky Energy which operates Madura Strait PSC offshore East Java announced on Monday the opening of PQ tender for the provision of an Indonesian-flagged floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) for the development of its Madura BD gas field.

The company said that the FPSO will have capacity to process 110 MMCFD of gas and 8,000 BPD of condensate, water purification capacity of 2,500 BPD and stable condensate heating capacity of 370,000 barrels.

According to the company, the FPSO will be equipped with spread mooring system, flexible risers and all necessary topside facilities to process sour gas.

Lease duration for the vessel will be for 10 years with annual extension option for maximum of five years.

Gas produced from the FPSO will be piped through 52 km pipeline from wellhead to onshore gas metering station.

First gas production from the Madura Strait Block is expected in 2014.

In 2007, Husky signed gas sales agreements with three local companies for the sale of 100 million cubic feet per day of natural gas production from Madura Strait PSC. (alex)
