Husky makes new discoveries at Madura Strait block

Calgary-based oil and gas firm Husky Energy announced that it has made four new gas discoveries within the Madura Strait PSC, offshore East Java, which are currently being evaluated for potential tie-in to existing nearby infrastructure.
The company said in a statement that the findings came on top of a development program currently underway in three fields -- MDA, MDH and BD.
It added that the MDA and MBH duel-field development at the block is on tract for first production as early as 2014. As for BD field, first production is estimated at 2015 at the earliest, the company said in a statement.
The block is managed by its unit, Husky Oil Madura (Ltd). Husky is currently re-tendering the EPC for the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) at the block. The FPSO would have capacity to process 110 mmscfd of gas and 8,000 bopd of condensate, water purification capacity of 2,500 bopd and stable condensate heating capacity of 370,000 barrels.
In 2007, Husky signed gas sales agreements with three local companies for the sale of 100 million cubic feet per day of natural gas production from the block.
