Husky plans 3D survey in Anugerah block

Husky Anugerah Ltd plans to carry out a 750 sqkm 3D seismic survey at the Anugerah block, offshore East Java, in the second quarter of this year.

The Canadian company said in a tender announcement seen Saturday that it was also planning an optional 500 km 2D seismic survey at the block.

Husky Energy through its subsidiary Husky Anugerah Ltd holds a 100 percent interest in the block, awarded in February of last year. The contract area covers approximately 8,215 square kilometers and is primarily offshore East Java, with water depths of up to 1,400 meters. The main prospective locations are in water depths of 800 to 1,300 meters.

The contract area is located approximately 150 kilometers east of the Madura Strait Block. Under the PSC, Husky has an obligation to carry out seismic surveys to assess the petroleum potential of the exploration block within the first three years.
