IDX-listed PT Indonesia Transport & Infrastructure Tbk (IATA), a unit of the MNC Group, plans to operate two coal ports this year, Kontan daily reported on Monday.
The first, located in South Sumatra, has already started operation since February of this year, while the second in East Kalimantan is still under construction, which is expected to be completed end of March.
?Through subsidiary PT MNC Infrastruktur we?ll optimize the two coal ports,? said Finance Director of IATA, David Martin Soetiarto.
He said that the two coal ports are expected to contribute revenue of Rp 90 billion this year, and are targeted to eventually surpass revenue from the company?s current core business of jet plane rental. (*)
