IBP to increase 2010 coal production significantly

East Kalimantan coal miner PT Insani Bara Perkasa (IBP) plans to increase 2010 production significantly to 2.85 million tonnes from around 1 million tonnes this year.

Parent company IDX-listed PT Resources Alam Indonesia (RAI) revealed in a presentation filed with the IDX that the increase in production would come from a new pit called ?Loa Janan?, which is expected to produce 2 million tonnes next year.

IBP?s cumulative production from January to September 2009 had reached 765,000 tonnes with sales volume of 666,000 tonnes.

IBP exports 92 percent of its coal production with India as biggest market absorbing 41 percent of the company?s production, followed by China (27.6%) and South Korea (15%). (denny)
