Coal terminal operator PT Indonesia Bulk Terminal (IBT), a unit of Indonesia-listed energy firm PT Adaro Energy Tbk is expecting a lower throughput for this year and it open to any third party to use the terminal, the company?s official told Petromindo.Com.

The official said that the projected throughput figures for this year around only around 5 million tonnes. Last year the terminal's throughput reached 6.3 million tonnes.

The official said that IBT is targeting to increase its throughput target to around 6 million tonnes in 2012.

In its quarterly report, Adaro Energy said it shipped a total of 3.4 million tonens of coal as of September this year, down 32 percent from 4.99 million tonnes in the corresponding period of last year.

The decrease in the coal shipment came as a result of the company?s strategy of maximizing the utilization of the Taboneo anchorage, the company said. As Adaro moves more of its transshipment activities to the open anchorage at Taboneo, IBT is focusing on coal handling and fuel services for third parties.

IBT has installed throughput capacity of 12 million tonnes per year. (denny)
