Indonesia Coal Mining Association (ICMA) and the government are jointly conducting a study on the latter's plan to raise royalty of coal.
Supriatna Suhala, ICMA's Executive Director, told Petromindo.com that the study aims to find out the impact on coal mining companies if the royalty of coal is increased.
"Currently, the coal price is still not good. There is also a plan of imposing export tax on coal, if it is really implemented, our concern is that many companies may collapse," he said.
"We will study it together with the government to find the best solution," he said.
