Coal mining company PT Indonesia Coal Resources (PT ICR), a wholly owned subsidiary of PT Antam Tbk, is targeting to produce 220,000 tons in the second quarter of 2015 from its coal concession in Sarolangun, Jambi Province.

Ady Taufik, President Director of ICR told Petromindo.com on Friday that the target is aimed to fulfill demand based on the existing contract. The target represents an increase from the first quarter of 2015, during which the firm only produced 145,000 tons.

Ady said adding that aside from raising its own production, the company is eyeing 45,000 tons of coal trading in the second quarter of 2015.

"We expect to trade 15,000 tons of high CV coal per month in the second quarter," he said.

The coal will be taken from South Kalimantan and one of its customers is ICR's sister company PT Meratus Jaya Iron Steel (MJIS) in South Kalimantan. "We supply one barge per month to MJIS," he said.
