Coal miner PT Indonesia Coal Resources (PT ICR) plans to double its coal production in 2013 from last year's figure of 600,000 tons from its coal mine in Sarolangun, Jambi.

ICR is a wholly subsidiary of IDX-listed PT Aneka Tambang Tbk.

Bachtiar Magalatung, President Director of ICR told Petromindo.com that the company did not hit the production target last year due to the bearish market and problems related to hauling road availability in Jambi.

"We are now have solution for the hauling matter by using barging with 2,000 tons capacity through Batang Hari River," Bachtiar said.

Bachtiar added that the company has also been doing coal procurement in South Kalimantan to fulfill the coal consumption requirement of Antam's numerous projects in Kalimantan and Sulawesi.
