iForte signs 6.3 MWp solar, BESS project with steel pipe firm

PT iForte Energi Nusantara has signed a contract with steel pipe manufacturer PT Steel Pipe Industry of Indonesia Tbk (SPINDO) (IDX: ISSP) to develop what the companies described as the largest hybrid on grid solar power plant in Java.

The project will have installed solar capacity of 6.3 megawatt peak integrated with a 1 megawatt hour battery energy storage system. The agreement was announced in a social media post by company executives.

Separately, iForte said rooftop solar installations at SPINDO Units 1, 2 and 3, with combined capacity of 2.1 MWp, have been commissioned. The rooftop projects were signed in 2025 and are now operational.

PT iForte Energi Nusantara is a renewable energy services provider focused on rooftop solar systems. The company is part of the iForte group under PT Profesional Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk.

iForte offers solar systems under a zero capital expenditure model and a sharing the savings scheme, allowing customers to install solar power without upfront investment. The company has also secured green loan financing to support renewable energy projects.

The hybrid solar and storage project is part of efforts by industrial companies to reduce carbon emissions and increase the share of renewable energy in their operations.
