Iin Arifin Takhyan OPEC interim acting secretary general

Iin Arifin Takhyan named OPEC interim acting secretary Indonesian oil minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro said here on Wednesday that he has assigned Iin Arifin Takhyan to represent him as acting OPEC secretary general at the organization's headquarters in Vienna.
Iin, who currently serves as Oil and Gas Director General at the Mines and Energy Ministry, will depart for Vienna Jan. 3, he said.
Starting Thursday, Purnomo will also become OPEC acting secretary general after OPEC earlier this month failed to name a permanent replacement for Alvaro Silva.
He said he hopes OPEC will be able to name a permanent secretary general during the February meeting.(*)
