Inalum set to start production of aluminum alloy, billet

State-owned aluminum producer PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Inalum) is set to start early this month production of aluminum alloy and billet as construction of the production facility in Kuala Tanjung, North Sumatra, has been completed.
?We only need to make fine tuning. Construction (of the production facility) has been completed,? said Inalum Corporate Secretary Ricky Gunawan to Petromindo.com recently.
The production of aluminum alloy and billet forms part of the company?s expansion strategy. The facility has installed production capacity of 120,000 tons per year, comprising of 30,000 tpa of billet and 90,000 tpa of aluminum alloy. This year, production is targeted to reach 80,000 tons. Inalum President Director Winardi Sunoto said last year that full capacity is targeted to be reached by 2020.
