Inalum to produce 80,000t of aluminum alloy, billet

State-owned aluminum producer PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Inalum) has recently started production of aluminum alloy and billet at its facility in Kuala Tanjung, North Sumatra, and is aiming for output of 80,000 tons this year.

?Monthly production rate is 10,000 tons, which means that full-year output will be 80,000 tons,? said Inalum Corporate Secretary Ricky Gunawan to Petromindo.com recently.

The production of aluminum alloy and billet forms part of the company?s expansion strategy. The facility has installed production capacity of 120,000 tons per year, comprising of 30,000 tpa of billet and 90,000 tpa of aluminum alloy. Inalum President Director Winardi Sunoto said last year that full capacity is targeted to be reached by 2020.
