Inco, Antam to sign JV agreement Sunday

State miner PT. Aneka Tambang Tbk and nickel miner PT. International Nickel Indonesia, a subsidiary of Canadian mining firm Inco Limited will sign a joint venture agreement on Sunday to jointly develop the latter?s nickel resources in Pomalaa, South East Sulawesi, according to a government official.

?The two publicly listed firms plan to start supplying raw materials from Pomalaa to Antam?s FeNi I nickel smelter in South East Sulawesi in 2003,? said the official.

The official said the signing of the memorandum of understanding will take place in Pomalaa and will be witnessed by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro. (alex)
