Inco appoints Arif Siregar as new president

Publicly listed PT International Nickel Indonesia's annual shareholders meeting on Wednesday named Arif S. Siregar, and Dirk Theuninck as president director and director replacing Bing Tobing and Mike Sylvestre, respectively, who have resigned from board of directors.

PT Inco, which operates nickel mining in South Sulawesi, is aiming to produce 167 million pounds of nickel in 2006, slightly higher than last year?s production of 164 million pounds.

The company has said the development of the third hydroelectric facility at the mine will enable Inco to increase production by 33 percent to 200 million pounds of nickel-in-matte annually by 2009.

PT Inco is 61 percent-owned by Canadian miner Inco Ltd. (denny/anto)
