Inco laying off 87 workers in Jakarta and mining site

Nickel mining firm PT International Nickel Indonesia (Inco) will shed 87 managerial-level employees stationed at its mining site in South Sulawesi and Jakarta office.
?The restructuring program is part of the measures taken by the firm to maintain competitiveness on the long run,? spokesperson Jannus Siahaan said on Tuesday.
Mining firms around the globe have been heavily impacted by the decline in the prices of mining products amid the global economic crisis. Some of them have reduce the number of workforce as part of cost cutting measures. (Godang)
