Nickel mining company PT Inco in South Sulawesi is likely to reject the offer of Energy Sengkang to supply natural gas to the mining company's power plants and machinery, according to a source at Inco.
The source told Petromindo.com that over the next two years, Inco would not need additional power. He said that the current power supply from two hydro power plants was sufficient.
The source added that Inco was not planning to replace the use of fuel for its machinery with natural gas but it would resort to the use of cheaper chemical products.
Energy Sengkang has recently offered its natural gas to Inco and the state-owned general mining company PT Aneka Tambang which also has operation in the South Sulawesi province. (*)
