Indexim to boost coal output this year

Coal mining firm PT Indexim Coalindo, which operates coal mines in Kutai Timur Regency, East Kalimantan Province, aims to boost production this year to around 5 million tons amid recovery in the price of the commodity.
?Last year, our production was around 2.9 million tons,? said Lili, a Director at the company on Wednesday.
Lili said that the company has been exporting most of its coal to China and the Philippines, and some allocated for the domestic market to meet demand from state-owned electricity firm PT PLN in East Kalimantan.
Indexim has a combined 25,000-ha coal mines producing coal with calorific value of 4,200 kcal per kg.
