India?s engineering and manufacturing firm Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) announced on Monday it had secured a contract worth about $100 million to set up a 120-megawatt (MW) eco-friendly co-generation power plant in Indonesia.
BHEL said in a statement that the plant will be set up for the captive use of PT Merak Energi group (ME). It did not, however, specify where the power plant will be located.
BHEL also said ME would take over and operate the plant on completion.
BHEL entered the Indonesian market in 2002 with a contract to orovide a 22 MW co-generation power plant for PT Indo Bharat Rayon in Purwakarta, West Java. (Robert)
