India's Cuddalore Power Company Ltd intends to set up supply of coal

Expression of Interest for supply of coal on FOB / CIF basis

 

1. Cuddalore Power Company Limited (CPC) intends to set up an Imported Coal Based Thermal Power Project 1320 MW (2x860 MW) Capacity on the East Coast of india in Cuddalore District, Tamil Nadu; India. The Project Will have its own dedicated Jetty about 200 Km South of Channel Port at approximate Latitude 110 38’ N and Longitude 79” 47’ E, to unload Coal via Sea; The Open Sea Jetty will be designed to receive Ships up to Panamax Size.

 

2. The Coal on “As-Received Basis” shall have a minimum Gross Calorific Value (GCV) of 4,500 Kcal/Kg, Maximum Ash of 10%, and Maximum Sulphur of 0.7%.

 

3. The Total Annual Coal Requirement is 4 Million Tons for Coal with CCV (CAR Basis) of 5,500 Kcal/Kg and 4.9 Million Tons for Coal with GCV (GAR Basis) of 4,500 Kcal/Kg. Coal Supply on CIF Basis at CRC’s Coal Jetty is preferred. However, Coal Supply on FOB Basis would also be acceptable.

 

4. Coal Supplies would be required to start from January 2011. It is proposed to enter into Long Term Coal Supply Agreements with the selected Coal Supplier(s) for a period of minimum 15 Years and maximum 30 Years.

 

5. CVC hereby invites Interested Coal Mining Companies / Trading Companies, who can supply at least One Million Ton per Annum to the Project for at least 15 Years to submit their Expression of Interest for supplying Coal to the Project based on the details given above

 

6. The “Expression of Interest” shall include details of Company Profile, Specifications of Coal and Quantity of Coal that can be supplied List of Mines along with Estimated Measured Reserve (Quality and Quantity) Current Production Level List of Customers with Committed Quantities and Period of the Commitment, Coal Loading Arrangements and Financial Statements for the Last Three Years. In case of Delivery on CIF Basis Proposed Coal Transportation Arrangement is to be indicated

 

7. The “Expression of Interest” shall reach CPC at below mentioned Address not later than 28 May 2007

 

8. Based on the Expression of Interest received suitable Firms will be shortlisted issued the Coal Supply Bid Documents and invited to submit Bid Price

 

9. CPC reserved the right to accept or reject any or all of the “Expression of Interest” received without assigning any reason
